Naps are God's gift to Moms (and Dads)
I truly believe that naptime is a gift from God. He has instilled in our children the need for rest halfway through the day and I believe that this is the reason many parents don't go insane! I love my child and my daycare kids but it is so nice to be able to have a little time for me to clean (ha!), blog, do devotionals, paint toenails, nap!, etc. God in his infinite wisdom said "Here, you tired, weary-laden parent, this is my gift to you; naptime! This is totally my opinion and if your child doesn't take naps, that is absolutely your decision and that's cool. But I will make them lay down for 2 hours everyday until they go to kindergarten! I am blessed with a child that desperately NEEDS naps or he just gets absolutely irrational at about 6:00. It is a time for refreshing for both of us and it makes me a better mom! Welp, that's really all I wanted to say, selfish little me and my coveted naptime!!!

I don't think I could ever agree with anything more heartily.
Naptime is so precious around here, too, Cortney. And so desperately needed...
I dont think your selfish at all. In fact, I covet my night time sleep and that's why I don't let Caed take a nap! We are one of the luckier ones in that he can stretch from 8am to 8 or 9pm without a breakdown (but close) and he'll sleep from 10-12 hours if I do that!Otherwise he'd sleep for like, 6 hours and be ready to start the day! I, on the other hand would not! I do love sleeping children though, no matter what time of the day-Thanks for having us over last night. I LOVE you guys and always feel at home with ya.
Brit just started Kindergarten and still takes a nap most days. She usually needs them, and when she and Ian go down it's just a wonderful, wonderful thing. And on Sunday afternoons we ALL take naps. Even if the boys don't quite fall asleep they have to rest in their beds for two hours. We're all better for it!
