Halloween Pics

Thought I better post these before it becomes old news!
So Colton was anxiously awaiting Christopher to wake up so they can get into their costumes and hit 3 parties and trick or treat (we only made it to 2 parties and no trick or treating). He goes to get into his Bumblebee costume (lovingly purchased 2 months ago by Gma and Gpa) and it has just gotten so small that when he bends over gives him Major Wedgie! It took all of my strength not to laugh amongst his tears! He dug through the dress up box and came up with a ninja costume, so that was better. In comes Christopher that has had NO desire up until this point to dress up (I got him in it the night we did pumpkins, but only for about 2 minutes). So he was also in tears- see picture below. At this point I was ready to take off all costumes, put children in bed and watch a movie! We got to the parties and everyone had a great time!

Carson and Christopher ready for story time at the library. (Friday)

Awww!

TORTURE getting this child into his costume! I had to bribe him with candy
(even after I told him people will give him candy when he is in his costume!)

Much happier Woody after candy and jumping in the bouncer!

Colton striking a ninja pose!

Cake he won at the Fall Fam-tastic at our church.
He is totally going to be one of those people that wins stuff.
(side note- Right after he turned 2, he won a Goofy toy out of one of those Claw games! I have Never won anything out of those!)
Prof. pictures taken at the church party
(I took a picture of the picture, so they look a little off)
(really wanting to go back in the jumper)
(Colton missing most of costume and facepainted-
note to self take pics first, then play!)

Fall our way!

So, I don't think that we will get any fun fall colors this year due to the early cold snap. Seems like the leaves went right from green to dead and falling off of the trees. Sad because my two trees in the front are made to turn a beautiful deep red... not this year. So I took one of my old preschool crafts and expanded on it. We made our own fall leaves using coffee filters and watercolor paint. Christopher totally got into this project, every step of the way! I think I have my little crafty buddy (at least for now!)

Step 1. Paint the coffee filters. You really can't go wrong with this step. I only gave him red and yellow to work with (because I still wanted it to look "fall"ish)

Christopher really got into it!

Colton really got into his moon shoes and jumped around us!

Here's the dried coffee filters- ready to be cut into leaves.

Step 2. Cut into random sized "leaves"
Christopher figuring out how to use the scissors. He did pretty well for a first timer. Esp when the safety scissors can barely cut warm butter! It became more of a snip/rip maneuver!

Step 3. I took the "leaves" and just randomly folded, taped, etc... across a piece of string til it was full. They looked really cool with the light shining behind them! Next week I think we'll do some pumpkins for the corners.

Christopher was very proud of himself!

While waiting for the filters to dry, Christopher snagged my camera and took some pictures of me holding Carson.

In love

I am so completely in love with my boys. Lately I have been *less than patient* with them and dare I say-a little growlie! (You can't believe what the children say!) So tonight I just had a moment to reflect and count my blessings. I have been reading the book Praising boys well (For parents and teachers by Brewer) and just felt that I needed to share how much I love these kids!

Colton is endlessly funny and so deeply loving that I forget how fragile his feelings can be. Forgive me for being impatient with you and remember that you live on your own time, in a special place that has to conform to this "world". God has such amazing plans for you. I can't wait to see how your tenderness and crazy personality is going to change the world!

Here we are goofy around! I had to find one to show off his two tooth gap!
I'm secretly sad that his cute little toddler grin is gone.

Oh, Christopher and those mischievous eyes! Colton caught this picture and when reviewing the random, mostly-fuzzy pictures of Christopher and Carson playing in the tub, I found this gem! He is my laid-back, want-to-do-everything-Colton-is-doing, slip quietly away to do what I'm not supposed to, little boy! He is patient and loving and says to Carson "Oh, cute" as he pats his baby brother's head! What a joy it has been being your mom!
And, Carson, my little "pork chop". I am so in love with your little fat rolls, the way that you light up with joy when you see me, pressing my cheek up to your warm little cheek right after you have waken up from a nap. Only time will reveal how God has created unique little you.

As I was trying to tear Colton out of bed, we walked up to the kitchen and found that Christopher had taken it upon himself to get his own breakfast.
Thankfully it wasn't too much of a mess!
Yup, I love these kids!
